NUR 404 Physical Assessment
This course focuses on the application of critical thinking and reasoning in the assessment of the health status of individuals. The emphasis is on the systematic approach to a comprehensive health history and physical examination for differentiating normal from abnormal states. A holistic approach which includes the assessment of the physical, developmental, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual dimensions will be used as well as inclusion of health promotion and the evaluation of special populations. Learners will also have the ability to practice documentation of the assessment findings. In order to participate in this course, it is the student’s responsibility to ensure they hold an active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
