NUR 599 MSN Nursing Capstone

Serving as the culmination of the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program, this capstone course provides learners with the opportunity to synthesize advanced nursing knowledge into an evidence-based research project. Integrating core principles of nursing theory, population health, culture, statistics, healthcare technology, and clinical inquiry, students will design, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive project addressing a critical healthcare challenge. Learners will demonstrate mastery of modern leadership and ethical care frameworks to advocate for fair, high-quality care delivery and lead interprofessional initiatives across complex health systems. Throughout the capstone experience, students appraise legal, regulatory, and professional standards to champion social justice, mitigate risk, and guide transformative practice. The course culminates in an advanced written capstone paper and a professional oral presentation showcasing scholarly rigor, leadership acumen, and measurable practice improvements. In order to participate in this course, it is the student’s responsibility to ensure they hold an active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
