Late Work Policy

A key characteristic of successful working professionals is the ability to meet project and assignment deadlines. Trident University fosters and supports this responsibility, as each student is expected to submit course assignments on or before the due dates.

If a student experiences an extenuating circumstance that causes a late assignment, they should notify the faculty in writing. The student must explain the situation within a reasonable amount of time before or immediately after the assignment’s due date. When possible, supporting documentation should be provided. For extenuating circumstances, late penalties will be waived.

Examples of extenuating circumstances would be but are not limited to:

  • Military commitments
  • Loss of home
  • Medical conditions, injuries, hospital stays, and medical emergencies
  • Natural disasters
  • Loss of family members
  • Family emergencies or care for a family member

In the absence of extenuating circumstances, a 10% deduction will be applied to all courses and assignments* from the certificate level to the doctoral level during the regular session and during extensions. No assignments, including late assignments, will be accepted after the end of the course unless an approved extension has been granted.

*Late work penalties will not apply to TUX courses, doctoral study project courses, or dissertation courses.
