MHS 502 Intercultural Perspectives in the Health Sciences

This course is designed to provide the learner with a strong foundation for recognizing the role of culture in health science practice, policy, and education. Students examine barriers to communication, the importance of considering culture in all interactions, internal and external models of cultural competence, context for approaching cultural competency. Student will utilize learned information to prepare methods to effectively recognize, interpret, and interact with individuals from various cultural backgrounds.
